The Westfield London was cleared by police after the discovery of the device in the Shepherd’s Bush area.
“Officers from Hammersmith and Fulham are assisting with the evacuation of a number of premises following the discovery of a World War II shell in Shepherd’s Bush,” the Metropolitan Police said.
Officers found a shell approximately 13.5 inches (34 centimeters) in length and around six inches wide.
Cordons and local road closures were lifted after the ordnance was removed by specialist officers for examination.
