FREETOWN: The out-going Boss of the Department for International Development (DFID) Dominic O’Neill today takes leave of President Ernest Bai Koroma at State House. Accompanying the outgoing Boss, the Financial Secretary Edmond Koroma, lamented that it was a sad moment to bid farewell after having worked with him dedicatedly in offering positive assistance towards the development of our country. Mr. Dominic O’Neill thanked the President for the opportunity to work and serve in the country, noting that it has been worthy, a great challenge and added experience. He expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Sierra Leone for making his stay a memorable one and wished the nation well, especially in the area of infrastructural development.
Responding, President Koroma, said it is a sad moment to say good bye to a person of his kind, due to the role DFID had contributed, especially in the Free Health Care Project. “Please be an Ambassador for us out there. On my personal behalf and that of the government and people of Sierra Leone I want to wish you all the best in your future engagement” President Koroma said.
