Just in: Levi Johnston’s Mother Sentenced to Five Years in Jail

ET confirms that Levi Johnston ’s mother Sherry Johnston has been sentenced to five years in jail, following her guilty plea to a drug charge stemming from her arrest last December. Sherry’s lawyer tells us she only faces two years of actual incarceration: Two of her five years were suspended, and she’ll receive one year of “good time” credit as well as credit for the three months she’s already served. She could possibly serve her time at home via an ankle monitor due to her lack of criminal history, her lawyer adds. Sherry also faces three years of probation once she gets out of jail or off the ankle monitor.

Sarah Palin’s Book Notches Big Sales

Publisher HarperCollins says the first-day sales for Sarah Palin ’s new memoir are among the best ever for a nonfiction book. The publisher reports that Palin’s book, Going Rogue: An American Life , sold 300,000 copies its first day out, says the Associated Press . Former President Bill Clinton ’s My Life sold 400,000 copies the day it was released in 2004, and Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s Living History moved 200,000 copies one year earlier. ET was on the ground in Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday for Palin’s first stop on her book tour, where a list of rules for those waiting to get their copy of the book had been posted!

Update: Police Are Investigating Miley Cyrus Tour Bus Crash

Police say they are investigating a crash that occurred Friday morning involving one of Miley Cyrus ‘ tour buses. Police say that one person died and one person was injured when the tour bus, which was not carrying Miley, but was transporting members of her production crew, crashed in Virginia Friday morning. Police are not releasing the name of the deceased, pending notification of family members. The bus was traveling along with three other buses southbound on Interstate I-85 just south of Petersburg, VA, when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its right side. Police say survivors of the crash were able to exit through the front windshield of the bus.

"I can’t even imagine daytime television without her and I’m lucky enough to have been able to work for her and her show for the last five years, it’s been such an honor," Ling told ET Thursday night at the ‘Ninja Assassin’ premiere. "I’m going to continue working with Oprah, obviously not on the show, but I’m thrilled that she’s going to be able to take a little time. But don’t count her out cause this doesn’t mean she’s retiring by any means."

McSteamy Joins ‘Twilight’ Star in ‘Burlesque’ Show

TV star Eric Dane has joined the new musical drama ‘Burlesque’ that stars two pop star divas and one ‘Twilight’ star. In addition to Dane, the film cast Christina Aguilera, Cher and vampire bad boy Cam Gigandet . The "Grey’s Anatomy" star plays a successful business man who attempts to buy out a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club owned by Cher’s character and where Aguilera’s character, a small town girl with a big voice, performs, according to The Hollywood Reporter . He also seeks to romance Aguilera  in the process. Other actors to star in the musical movie include Kristen Bell, Alan Cumming and Stanley Tuccucci . Production for ‘Burlesque began last week in Los Angeles and has a release date of Thanksgiving 2010.
