TUNIS, Tunisia (AA) – Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi decided to extend the state of emergency across the country for two months.

The Tunisian presidency said in a brief statement released Friday that “the president has decided, after consultations with the prime minister and parliament speaker, to extend the state of emergency for two months throughout Tunisia.”
The measure will be maintained until October 3, 2015.
Essebsi declared a state of emergency on July 4 after an attack on the resort city of Sousse left 38 people dead.
