What’s the saying better late than never? At the moment the dominant View out there is that Charles Taylor is a Villain, a cold blooded killer, you name it. The simple fact is that bad news sells, the more outrageous the news the better. It’s easier for a Western audience to believe an African leader is capable of cannibalism, torture, corruption and rape. However it is much harder for them to believe that just like any western head of state, African heads of state can stand for something, have dignity, be supported by their people, be loved and be civilised.
Former President Taylor has been waiting for the world to open their eyes and see him for who he really is a revolutionary who fought tooth and nail to achieve democracy which exists in Liberia Today, a Mediator who went out of the way to help a neighbouring country whilst trying to fight off invaders from all sides in his own country at the same time, a lover of humanity who feels that injustice should be squashed wherever it exists. Despite his best intentions or thoughts about the world, he has been portrayed in a manner which serves the purpose of those in high places. The best approach for such a world is for a giant alarm clock to go off. http://www.charles-ghankay-taylor.com is this alarm. So wake up world, not everything is always as it seems.

It is utterly offensive and disgusting to find individuals who are expected to be conformists to the civilize world endeavoring to re-brand one of the world most notorious dictators as a saint, even though the scars caused by his actions still resonate with victims in both Liberia and Sierra even today. As a Liberian who personally witness and suffer the atrocities and wanton destruction of Charles Taylor and his forces, I can only say that those making vain efforts to divert the attention of the international community from the efforts of the peoples in the countries victimized to rebuild their lives, are certainly beneficiaries of the national loots and exploits of Taylor. This is totally obnoxious and must stop, as it may provoke a repercussion from victims still suffering the scars of his actions.
