Applications are requested from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans to fill the under mentioned position with the Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiatives.

 

Position:                                               Programme Officer

Organization:                                   Sierra Leone Extractive Industries

                                                                  Transparency Initiative (SLEITI)

 

 

Reports to:                                       SLEITI National Coordinator

 

Responsibilities:

 

Provide administrative and technical backstop to the National Coordinator;

Coordinate office management activities for the secretariat;

Research, compile, assimilate & prepare confidential documents or briefs for the National Coordinators;

Organize and service the multi-stakeholder group meetings, workshops and other events;

Manage and administer all contracts entered into by the secretariat as approved by the multi-stakeholder group;

Act as liaison between the National Coordinator and other officers by transmitting directives and assignments and follow up on status of assignments;

Develop a work plan, budget and project proposals for timely submission;

Establish and maintain a documentation centre for all EITI related matters;

Manage the Reconciliation and Validation exercises;

Assist in the implementation of recommendations of the Reconciler and Validator;

Partake in public education, sensitization and consultation activities;

Assist in the monitoring of the work plan to ensure compliance.

 

Requirements: 

Applicants must have the following key competencies & qualifications:

Five years successful experience with private, public and civil society actors;

A degree in the following fields, namely; National Resource Management, Economics, Public Administration or Governance.  A post graduate degree is an advantage;

Proven experience in the Extractive Industries Transparence Initiative;

Excellent research, writing and analytical skills;

Demonstrated knowledge of donor procedures;
