There are reports that the President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, has been rushed to a hospital in Dubai after falling ill. There has been no official comment on the sudden illness of the Zimbabwe dictator. Mugabe who is expected to play host to South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma this Thursday, is not well and undergoing specialist medical treatment in the United Arab Emirates.
There has been constant speculation over the health of the Zimbabwean strongman. This time, the speculation is that the President is undergoing treatment for urology related complications. Details are still sketchy about what is really wrong with the President. Lack of proper medical facilities in Zimbabwe has meant that top government officials have to seek medical treatment abroad. The effect of sanctions and the apparent failure of the unity government to reach a consensus about how to resolve outstanding political differences may have had their toll on the Presidents health.
