Mugabe – The Ruthless Dictator has Plans to Stand For Re-election in Zimbabwe

Mugabe - This Old Man - Still Hungry for Power

The shameless and brutal dictator in Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe said on Thursday he would stand for re-election if his party decides to nominate him.  Having been in power for over 30 years in which period he has oppressed his people and strangled all forms of democracy in the country, this pathetic octogenarian does not want to make way for a younger successor.  He lost the last election to Morgan Tsvangirai but was too embarrassed to accept defeat and went on to rig the election and squander the rights of his people. Not only is Mugabe desperate to hold on to power, he would do so at all cost. He has left so many children orphans by using his secret police to murder any element of opposition.

This crazy African despot  has been in power since Zimbabwe’s independence from Britain in 1980. He has lost all credibility in the region and the wider world. The only support he seems to enjoy is that of his neighbour, Jacob Zuma, who has more of an ethical dilemma than Mugabe’s political worries himself. Mugabe’s cling to power has reduced Zimbabwe to an economic mess. And sanctions by the West have equally reduced Mugabe to economic confinement in his own country.  Sanctions are directed at him and his corrupt stooges who continue to rape the quality of life of the people of Zimbabwe. ZANU-PF is equally culpable of the crimes against the people of Zimbabwe because they have helped him stay in power and they continue to act in his name in a rampant terror campaign to silence all his critics.

The power-sharing government is faced with threats of disintegration. It was initially expected to run for two years until 2011, but it seems mutual suspicion and strategic considerations are delaying democratic reforms which would clear the way for a free and fair elections. Mugabe’s school did not teach him the tenets of democracy and he doesn’t seem to have grasped the meaning of ‘free and fair’. This mad man of Africa was recently Asked whether he would stand again for a national election at the end of his current five-year term in 2013 and he said: “Go ask ZANU-PF –  I am a ZANU-PF son. If ZANU-PF says, ‘go for it,’ I will.” It is quite interesting that at 86 when most men would have retired and looking after their grand children, Mugabe still has plans to continue oppressing his people.  He went on to say that the timing of a new election would depend on how soon the parties agreed on a new constitution. “As to when this will be, it’s a matter of time,” he said. It is time Mugabe leaves the political scene. His continued presence can only increase the suffering of a people who have become the true victims of the foolish political antics of the sad old man.
